Origin: NSW, VIC, SA, TAS, WA.
Cultural notes: Adaptable to a range of soils and climates, soils must be well-drained. At its best in full sun, shade can cause the foliage to thin out. Stems set roots at the nodes.
Maintenance: Can be cut back to maintain shape.
Tolerates: Drought, frost and salt.
Flowering season: Spring, summer and autumn.
Flower colour: Star shaped white or pale pink flowers with purple spots. Flowers are followed by small edible purple or green fruit.
Foliage colour: Dark green narrow leaves to 4cm long, usually shorter.
Width: Up to 3m
Height: Up to 0.5m
Plant spacing: 50cm apart
Recommended uses: Useful plant in coastal gardens due to its salt tolerance and good sand and soil binding properties. Excellent rockery plant.
Description: Prostrate shrub forming dense mats along the ground, spreading to 3m. Small white or pink flowers can be seen through spring summer and autumn.
