Cultural notes: Full sun position, boggy areas, ponds, dams, very hardy and long lived.
Maintenance: No maintenance required. May be trimmed back (about 1/3 of leaf) if desired.
Tolerates: Dry periods and flooding.
Flowering season: Spring to early autumn.
Flower colour: The branching reddish-brown seed head is between 30-40cm long and is loosely clustered with many flowers.
Foliage colour: Leaves are dark green and Origin: ate from the base and are reduced to greyish papery sheaths. The upper leaves have a soft hollow blade up to 120cm long. The stems are up to 180cm high, hollow and cylindrical.
Height: Up to 2.5m
Water depth: Aquatic to 1m
Plant spacing: 50cm apart
