Description: A small to medium-sized tree growing to 30m in lowland areas. This tree has an oval-shaped canopy. The alpine variety, E.p. niphophila, only reaches 15m. The bark is smooth and mottled, white, grey or yellow in colour. White flowers in spring and summer.

Origin: NSW, ACT, Vic, Tas, Qld.

Cultural notes: Prefers a sunny position. In cold areas, the bark develops patches of orange, red, yellow and olive green. Bee attractant.

Tolerates: Tolerant of drought, frost and snow.

Flowering type and season: Flowers in spring and summer. White or pink flowers occurring in the leaf axils.

Foliage type and colour: The adult foliage is thick and leathery, blue-grey to olive-green, lanceolate to 16cm in length. Juvenile foliage is weeping and ovate.

Soil type: Well-draining soil preferred. Can tolerate most soil types and pH levels.

Width: Up to 20m

Height: Up to 30m
