Description: This tree is most well-known for its green fan-shaped foliage that fades into bright yellow through autumn. It is slow-growing, not producing bloom until at least 20 years into its maturity. Older trees will produce aerial roots (chi-chi) which can grow back down into the ground. This tree has a natural conical shape to its canopy.
Origin: Asia
Cultural notes: This tree likes full sun and should be kept out of strong winds.
Tolerates: Tolerant of compacted soil, disease resistant and pollution tolerant.
Flowering type and season: Inconspicuous flowing. Will not flower until the tree is well established in years, 20 years at the earliest. Stone fruit can be produced from female trees which has an off smell, recommended male trees are used for ornamental use.
Foliage type and colour: Foliage is green and shaped like a fan, with multiple leaves stemming from a node. Foliage turns bright yellow throughout autumn.
Soil type: Soil that is deep and rich in organic matter is preferred. Can tolerate most soil types.

Recommended uses: Parkland or urban sites, great for shade coverage due to the horizontal canopy structure.
