Cultural notes: A hardy plant that prefers a sunny position in saline soils. Can be slow to recover after disturbance.

Tolerates: Salt tolerant.

Flowering season: Most flowers will occur from November to March, but will commonly set some flowers year round.

Flower colour: Dark brown to reddish-brown. Flowers occur in panicles at the same Height: or slightly above the foliage.

Foliage colour: Dark green to golden brown sharp pointed leaves.

Width: Up to 2m

Height: Up to 1.5m

Plant spacing: 50cm apart

Recommended uses: A good pioneer regeneration species. Useful for stabilising banks in salt areas.

Description: Rhizomatous perennial tussock grass inhabiting salt marshes and the edges of estuaries and other brackish or salt water bodies.
