Description: A large deciduous tree with a canopy conical in shape until maturing into a rounded shape. Known for its bark which has a flaky appearance. After flowering, this tree will produce brown seed balls which hang through the canopy.
Origin: Cultivar origin New Zealand.
Cultural notes: Prefers full sun. Water in well when planting and make sure soil keeps moist until the plant establishes. Prune when planting encourages growth.
Tolerates: Tolerant of pollution.
Flowering type and season: Inconspicuous flowers are produced in spring. These are proceeded by brown fluffy seed balls that hang around the canopy.
Foliage type and colour: Foliage is a rich green, in autumn turning to orange and red hues.
Soil type: Well-draining soil preferred. Will tolerate most soil types.

Height: Up to 15m
